Fire Vampires of Fthaggua by Bellmoore Fire Vampires of Fthaggua by Bellmoore
The Fire Vampires of Fthaggua resemble crimson bursts of lightning. They gain sustenance by draining energy from intelligent beings; the subject so affected bursts into flames as if experiencing spontaneous combustion. The fire vampires also absorb all memories from the targeted victim. Since the minds of the fire vampires form a collective "hive mind", all knowledge gleaned from a slain being is shared by every member.
-Fire Vampires created by Donald Wandrei

Unfortunately no. I was looking for a name for this and liked Fthaggua more than Cthugha, I've probably read about them in August Derleth's The Dweller in Darkness.

the fire vampires are from "The Fire Vampires" by you-know-who from 1933 (the same date as his other mythos story, "Tree-Men of M'Bwa"). They have only a retroactive indirect connection to Cthugha, as Cthugha was invented in 1944, and his progeny (which are small creatures resembling embers) are called Jinnee, the flame creatures of Cthugha, a couple decades later by John S. Glasby. Fthaggua is also retroactively Cthugha's child.

There is so much confusion about this that in the call of cthulhu rpg they call jinnee fire vampires! Really though, it's Cthugha who made connections to Fthaggua post-humously. I've never read Wandrei's story so I can't pass judgement, but Cthugha is one of my favorite GOO's.

p.s. Your picture is really cool, too.
